The original Eskamoe's Frozen Custard & More, was opened on June 11, 2002 in Monroe, Louisiana.  Dan and Kelle Messer, founders and operators, took their 20 years of combined experience in multi-unit family owned business management to develop Eskamoe's from the ground up.  They began by developing the penguin icon and then followed by creating a unique treat shop for people on the go, complete with two drive-up or walk-up windows.  They also created a relaxing outdoor eating area for families and friends to congregate and enjoy the freshest dessert in town.

Since its opening, Eskamoe’s has been honored with numerous awards for its delicious frozen treats. For three years, Eskamoe’s was the winner of Best Dessert in the Twin Cities for its Arctic Turtle, Strawberry Meltdown, and Pralines N Cream treats. From 2007-2009, the Annual Delta Style Best of the Delta named Eskamoe’s as winner of the Best Ice Cream in the Delta award. Dan and Kelle firmly believe in supporting the community in which they live and do business. As a result, Eskamoe’s has participated in numerous community events and nonprofit organization fundraisers. The award-winning ice cream shop also supports local schools in their reading programs and in honor roll incentives.

Since it's beginning, the Eskamoe's motto has always been "Taste what you've been missing...the freshest frozen dessert in town."  The popularity of Eskamoe's has continued to escalate, and it has definitely become known as..."a cool place to be!"
